Abstract Axion haloscopes search for dark matter axions from the galactic halo, most commonly by measuring a power excess sourced axion effective current density. Constraining parameters detection or lack thereof requires estimating expected signal power. Often, this is done studying response of haloscope to known, but different, source density, example via reflection measurement. However, only in special case when both sources induce same electromagnetic fields, do quantities derived measurement adequately describe setup during an While might be valid traditional resonant cavity haloscope, new broadband open designs like dish antennas dielectric cannot make assumption. A more general relation between axion- and reflection-induced fields needed.
